Meanwhile, the next-generation Cadillac CT5 will ride on the updated Alpha 2-2 platform, and will soon stand alone as Cadillac’s last remaining four-door internal combustion car in the US following the CT4’s discontinuation this summer. It’s true, a distinctive name could help reposition the CT5 as a flagship ICE-based four-door, not just the last one standing.

Notably, reader sentiment is already leaning towards changing the name, with the previous one GM Authority the poll showed 66 percent supported renaming the next-generation CT5.
With a major update on the horizon and a broader shift away from alphanumeric naming already underway, the case for renaming the Cadillac XT5 and CT5 seems stronger than ever. But what to do You think about? Should Caddy change the names of these two models, and if so, to what? Let us know what you think in the comments!
