Leno Drives Modified 900-HP Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing: Video

The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing really has a few things to offer startling performance, producing 668 supercharged horsepower and claiming to be the most track-worthy production car Caddy has ever produced. But what happens when you start modify this machine? Now, Jay Leno is finding out firsthand.

According to the owner, the 6.2L V8 LT4 in this Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing was upgraded with a larger 2.6L Magnus supercharger, new headers, and a tune, increasing output to about 750 horsepower at the wheels, or about 850 to 900 horsepower at the crank. That’s an impressive number, especially for a four-door luxury sedan.

Also notable is the drivetrain, with buyers getting a manual transmission straight from the factory – an increasingly uncommon feature, especially among the Caddy’s European performance car rivals. For Leno, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing also looks trivial in terms of appearance, but is still capable, even compared to competitors such as BMW’s M model.

The owner shared that he previously drove European cars and a Tesla Model S Plaid, but preferred the driving experience and the Cadillac. The car is also renowned for its track capabilities, with features such as carbon ceramic brakes, high-performance tires and advanced suspension that adapts quickly to driving conditions. Despite its performance, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is still comfortable for everyday driving and long trips.

Funnily enough, the owner was thinking about additional upgrades to increase horsepower even further, such as fuel and cam upgrades. The owner explains that the current settings are already near the limits of the fuel system, and additional upgrades could push the car beyond 1,000 horsepower.

During the test drive, Leno felt the car’s responsiveness, stability and overall handling. This car is described as a car that is predictable, easy to drive, and capable of both relaxed driving and fierce acceleration.
