Chevy Trax and Chevy Trailblazer owners may notice a vibration condition when their vehicle is parked forward on a downhill slope. However, GM has instructed its dealers to reassure customers that this problem is normal. Yes, normal.

According to GM dealer service bulletin PIC6553B, 2021 to 2026 Chevy Trailblazer units and 2024 to 2026 Chevy Trax units can vibrate when the vehicle is stationary, but still, on an incline. The automaker has explained that there is a known issue where the engine mount snubber comes into contact with the housing on steep slopes, causing vibrations. However, this causes mechanical problems in subcompact crossovers.
Even so, GM has instructed dealers to inspect the vehicles, just to make sure there are no obvious problems that might show similar symptoms. Dealership technicians were asked to take the vehicle out for a drive, look for a lean of at least 3 percent of 4.7 degrees, with the front of the crossover facing down, shift into park and release the brake pedal.

In particular, if the vehicle’s parking brake is not engaged, if the vehicle is stopped in Drive or Park, the vibration may be duplicated after the brake pedal is released and the parking pawl is engaged. Please note that vibration conditions may get worse when the AC system is turned on. If the dealer technician replicates these conditions, no further work must be performed on the vehicle, and the vehicle is ready to use. Dealers will be given 0.2 hours of work time to verify condition.

This bulletin was originally created in May 2024, but was updated again in March 2026 to include 2026 model year Chevy Trax and Chevy Trailblazer units on the list of potentially affected vehicles. Apparently, this problem hasn’t been resolved over the years with engine mount revisions, but again, GM says this is a normal condition.
As a reminder, the Trax and Trailblazer are part of GM’s Korean Four affordable crossovers, a quartet that also includes the Buick Encore GX and Buick Envista. The Trax is made at the Changwon factory in South Korea, while the Trailblazer, Encore GX, and Envista are produced at the Bupyeong factory.
