Wolfbox Offers Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra Running Boards

Wolfbox, an automotive electronics company, has announced the launch of its first power running boards, offering a new aftermarket accessory option for the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks.

Called the E-RB01, the new retractable step system is aimed at the North American truck and off-road accessory market, with initial applications including Chevrolet, GMC, Ford, Ram and Toyota pickups.

New power running boards are offered for the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra.

The Wolfbox E-RB01 uses a single high torque motor with an IP67 rating, allowing the steps to extend and retract in harsh conditions. The company says the system is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -40 degrees Fahrenheit to 176 degrees Fahrenheit, while being resistant to water, mud and other debris commonly encountered during off-road use.

For Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra owners, Wolfbox lists equipment for pickups manufactured between the 2019 and 2026 model years, including the Chevy Silverado 1500, Silverado HD, GMC Sierra 1500, and Sierra HD. The ladder is made from cast aluminum and uses a PTFE coating that is intended to help resist corrosion from road salt and other contaminants. Each step provides a six-inch wide stepping surface and carries a maximum load of 660 pounds. Textured surfaces are included for increased traction.

The operation is automatic. The ladder deploys when the door is opened and retracts when the door is closed, helping to maintain ground clearance when the plank is not in use. The E-RB01 also features an obstacle detection system, which stops movement if an object is in the way, along with integrated LED lighting for increased visibility at night.

Wolfbox says the system uses pre-installed cabling and CAN bus integration, eliminating the need for additional external sensors. Prices start at $1,299.99, although Wolfbox is currently showing a promotional price of $1,099.99 on select power running board applications via the Wolfbox website. The new running boards are also available on Amazon, with Wolfbox offering 13 percent off for a limited time using code 13PRBOARD.
