GM full-size truck sales fell about two percent to 204,425 units in the United States during the first quarter of 2026.
Only one of GM’s four full-size pickup truck brands was essentially in the green zone: Chevy Silverado sales were flat at 127,412 deliveries, while the GMC Sierra dipped 3.9 percent to 74,319 units. ICE-powered trucks span both light-duty and heavy-duty lineups, while the Silverado also features a Medium Duty chassis cab. Historically, GM has sold twice as many Silverados as Sierras, although the ratio was lower this quarter at 1.7 to 1.

Competitive Sales Comparison & Analysis
Sales again benefited from GM’s still fresh and expansive lineup of full-size ICE-powered trucks, while battery electric models didn’t contribute as much as the automaker had hoped. Overall, the ICE-powered Silverado (see running sales of the Chevy Silverado) and Sierra (see running sales of the GMC Sierra), along with the all-electric Silverado EV (see running sales of the Silverado EV) and Sierra EV (see running sales of the GMC Sierra EV), posted more than 204K sales, placing The General well ahead of its main rival, the Ford F Series (see running Ford F Series Sales), around 45 thousand units.
Cumulative sales of all Silverados and Sierras gave The General 204,425 deliveries for a 40 percent market share. Full-size Ford trucks combined generated 159,901 sales for a segment share of 31 percent. Additionally, GM full-size truck sales fell about two percent while Ford F-Series sales fell 16 percent.
That means GM remains America’s best-selling full-size pickup truck overall through the first quarter of 2026, accounting for two out of every five deliveries during the quarter, although this number occurred across four trucks and two brands. The Blue Oval continues to outsell GM in the United States, but looking at individual nameplates, the F-Series was the single best-selling full-size truck during the quarter with more than 30K units.

Besides Ford, GM outsells the Ram Pickup by more than two to one. In fact, the ICE-powered Sierra range came within 24K deliveries of the Ram, which includes both light- and heavy-duty models, and gained a 20 percent segment share with 98,425 deliveries. The Tundra posted a seven percent share with 35,550 sales, while the retired Titan took just 10 deliveries.
Meanwhile, GM’s two electric trucks combined totaled 2,694 units, with the Silverado EV posting sales of 1,406 and the Sierra EV 1,288. Together they surpassed the now discontinued all-electric vehicle Ford F-150 Lightning (see running Ford F-150 Lightning sales), which resulted in 2,060 sales. But the Tesla Cybertruck leads battery-electric truck sales with 5,000 deliveries, while the Rivian R1T beats both GM EV trucks with 2,000 deliveries each.
Starting in Q1 2025, we are removing the all-electric GMC Hummer EV Pickup from our rankings because GM is no longer dividing its sales from the GMC Hummer EV SUV.

Ford plans to increase production of its F Series trucks as many as 50 thousand units by 2026, but GM responded by increasing production of the Silverado HD and Sierra HD. Both automakers know which side of their bread is buttered.
For information, we present the sales of the Honda Ridgeline below. This unibody pickup straddles the mid-size and full-size truck segments. It outsold individual EV models in the quarter and nearly matched sales of all models combined, but couldn’t match deliveries of full-size ICE-powered trucks and even less compete with midsize models.
