About the GMC Sierra HD
The 2026 GMC Sierra HD comes with only minor updates for the 2025 model year, including the removal of some RWD configurations and the addition of two new exterior paint options – Glacier White Tricoat and Coastal Dune.

The standard powertrain offered across the Sierra HD lineup is a 6.6L V8 L8T naturally aspirated gasoline engine, which produces 401 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 464 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm. Optionally available is the Duramax turbodiesel 6.6L V8 L5P engine, which produces 470 horsepower at 2,800 rpm and an impressive 975 pound-feet of torque at 1,600 rpm. Both are connected to GM’s 10-speed automatic transmission branded as an Allison transmission.
