About the Cadillac XT5

The 2026 Cadillac XT5 receives some minor updates and changes for the 10th model year of the luxury crossover SUV’s first generation, serving as the nameplate’s final model year before the next-generation XT5 arrives in 2028 – see more below. Here’s everything new and different for 2026.

The Sport and Premium Luxury trim levels get more standard features for the 2026 model year, including the inclusion of the Technology Package, Driver Assistance Package, Smart Towing, and tri-zone automatic climate control.

The 2026 XT5 drops this paint color – Midnight Sky Metallic – but marks the return of the Onyx Package.

Here’s everything the 2026 XT6 has to offer:

This two-row luxury crossover still offers two powerplant options. A 2.0L I4 LSY turbocharged gasoline engine, rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, is standard on all trims. The LGX’s naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque, is an available option on the Premium Luxury and Sport trims. Both are mated to a GM nine-speed automatic transmission, with standard front-wheel drive (FWD) and optional all-wheel drive (AWD).

The current manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the 2026 Cadillac XT5 ranges from $46,595 to $64,595. This includes a destination delivery charge (DFC) of $1,795. Here are the prices with options and plans.

The most expensive 2026 XT5 costs more than $75K.

The next-generation 2028 Cadillac XT5 is headed to North America, apparently bringing the next-generation model that debuted in China to the United States. The new XT5 features a fresh design and nicely updated interior, as found in the updated 2024 Cadillac XT4, the XT5’s smaller sibling. This move to introduce a next-generation model is indicative of an ongoing renaissance at GM for internal combustion-powered vehicles.

With that in mind, perhaps one question going forward is, what will power the next generation Cadillac XT5? As part of the rollback of the CAFE regulations, we expect GM to continue offering the LGX’s naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 engine, which produces 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque – or at least an updated version of its long-standing smooth-running V6.

Production of the next-generation 2028 Cadillac XT5 is currently scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of the 2027 calendar year.
