The 2027 model year is a watershed moment for the mid-engined Corvette, offering new model variants and even a new powertrain. Now, GM Authority has learned when dealers will officially start taking orders for the latest model year, including the new 2027 Corvette Grand Sport.
According to sources familiar with the matter, dealers will begin taking orders for the 2027 Corvette on April 16.th2026. At that date, dealers can enter the new configuration into GM’s ordering system, although note that new orders will not be processed immediately. Instead, final processing will occur at a later, as yet undisclosed date.
This timing aligns with the broader production schedule for the Corvette lineup, with regular production for the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026. However, the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport won’t begin before June 8.thas there is currently a planned slowdown at the GM Bowling Green plant where the Corvette is produced as a result of ongoing, recent supplier constraints GM Authority coverage.

As has been the case since the 2020 model year, all 2027 Corvette variants continue to use the GM Y2 platform, with the latest model year also introducing the naturally aspirated 6.7L V8 LS6 engine, which serves as a replacement for the 6.2L V8 LT2 and will find a place in the C8 Stingray, C8 Grand Sport, and C8 Grand Sport electric to increase combined output to 721 horsepower and 665 pound-feet of torque.
