A transportation company is currently facing lawsuits after a 2024 Cadillac Escalade-V designed for transportation across the country went missing.
According to reports from Automotive NewsThe high-performance luxury SUV is valued at approximately $131,877, and is scheduled to be delivered from Nevada to a dealer in Florida. Unfortunately, the Cadillac Escalade-V never arrived.

As outlined in a recently filed lawsuit, BMW of Henderson in Las Vegas attempted to deliver the Escalade-V to AutoNation Cadillac West Palm Beach through Acertus, an automotive logistics platform. The dealer contacted a transportation broker, and McCollister Global Services eventually took on the job, but there were problems finding a carrier to complete the delivery.
The story goes that a driver from Las Vegas-based Orlandi’s Towing arrived at the dealership with a bill of lading and took possession of a Cadillac Escalade-V. However, instead of embarking on a cross-country journey, the lawsuit claims the vehicle was then transported to a residential property located in North Las Vegas. The driver allegedly received instructions via text message from someone claiming to represent McCollister, directing him to leave the SUV in North Vegas, and that another carrier would continue the delivery to Florida.

The Cadillac Escalade-V was then reportedly taken by an unknown person and has not been seen since. Henderson’s BMW is now seeking damages from McCollister’s and Orlandi’s Towing, with claims that include negligence, intentional misrepresentation, civil conspiracy, conversion, and violation of the Carmack Amendment, the latter of which addresses a carrier’s liability for goods lost or damaged when shipped across state lines.
In his statement, the owner of Orlandi’s Towing, Misdeivis Orlandi, said Automotive News that he followed standard operating procedures, and that he received pickup instructions, including VIN, and delivery instructions, along with a valid bill of lading. During delivery, Orlandi said he was given the appropriate bill of lading on his phone, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary at the time.

As GM Authority discussed previously, the Escalade-V was offered at a significant dealer markup when it was first launched, reflecting strong demand for the high-performance luxury SUV.
As a reminder, the Cadillac Escalade-V is equipped with a supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine and uses the GM T1 platform, with production taking place at GM’s Arlington plant in Texas.
