We previously reported on Cadillac’s confirmed intentions to sell the vehicle in Brazil. And now, it looks like the luxury brand will make an official announcement a day before it makes its F1 debut at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix, scheduled for March 6.th through 8th.
According to invitations sent to local media in Brazil, Cadillac’s parent company, General Motors, will hold a special presentation event on March 5.th. Specifically, the invitation stated: “The wait is over. The event that will inaugurate the iconic trip to Brazil is coming soon.”

When the company says it intends to “inaugurate an iconic ride in Brazil,” we’re pretty sure they mean Cadillac’s presence in South America’s largest country. Any doubts can be easily assuaged by the important details of the invitation, including its dark blue background and font, as well as the intentional use of one particular word: iconic. Therefore, we hope that the luxury brand can highlight the model they want to sell on the Brazilian market in a way that builds on the excitement of its F1 debut.
As we mentioned before, Cadillac has made efforts to strengthen enthusiasm for the brand in Brazil through motorsports. Contributing to this is the Cadillac Racing V-Series.R hyper car, which finished first and second during last year’s Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo, earning redemption after a disappointing performance in 2024.

Cadillac has not confirmed which vehicles it plans to sell in Brazil, but it will likely follow the same strategy as it employs in other international markets where it does not have a production footprint, such as Europe. If that’s the case, potential buyers can look forward to a fully electric portfolio, including the Optiq and Lyriq.
And given the exciting nature of the announcement, we imagine people were hoping to hear about performance-oriented offerings. While the Blackwing (or any other ICE-powered model) is unlikely to enter the Brazilian market, there’s a good chance the Optiq-V and Lyriq-V will be offered.
