The 2026 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Deep Ocean Edition has begun arriving at US dealers, giving buyers an early look at one of the rarest configurations of Cadillac’s super sedan. Production of the Deep Ocean Appearance Package is limited to 200 units, a limit that ensures fast turnaround at retail.
The CT5-V Blackwing remains the most potent expression of Cadillac’s V-Series formula. It combines a hand-built 6.2L V8 LT4 engine with a choice of six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic, delivering performance that makes it one of the last of its kind. The Deep Ocean Edition doesn’t change the powertrain, but introduces a different visual identity. The eponymous paint features a dark blue metallic finish that changes under varying light, combined with subtle exterior accents and unique interior treatments.
Inventory lists confirm that some units are already available in dealer stock in some regions. Prices vary depending on equipment, with some vehicles selected with an available Precision Package. The package adds carbon-ceramic brakes, lightweight wheels, and chassis upgrades aimed at track use. Another example omits this increase, showing that Cadillac is allowing flexibility in a limited time period.
Cadillac hasn’t issued an extensive public statement specifically for the Deep Ocean Edition, but the brand has been consistent in its positioning of the Blackwing lineup. “These cars represent the pinnacle of Cadillac performance,” the company has stated in previous communications regarding the V-Series Blackwing models. Limited edition display packages align with that strategy, offering exclusivity without changing existing performance limitations.
The timing is very important. As the industry continues to transition toward electrification, vehicles like the CT5-V Blackwing are occupying an increasingly narrow niche. Cadillac has outlined its long-term EV ambitions, giving special importance to special editions of its flagship internal combustion engine.
For buyers, the similarities are clear. Limited production, high enthusiast demand, and the enduring appeal of supercharged V8 sedans created narrow opportunities. With units now hitting showroom floors, remaining availability of the Deep Ocean Edition will likely dwindle quickly.
