The 2026 GMC Hummer EV SUV introduces several updates, with the most visually striking change coming with the launch of the new Carbon Fiber Edition. Although this special edition is pitched as the fastest production Hummer ever built, it also wears Magnus Gray Matte paint, a smooth, matte finish that gives an even more aggressive look to the already impressive electric SUV. Now GM Authority is taking a closer look.

Marked with color code GBL and touch up paint number WA-234K, Magnus Gray Matte is not a stand-alone option. Instead, it is bundled exclusively with the Carbon Fiber Edition package (code RPO WFP), which is only available on the Hummer EV 3X trim. That means Hummer EV 2X buyers will need to look elsewhere, as this particular finish is completely off-limits for that configuration.
And it’s not a budget-friendly addition either, as the Carbon Fiber Edition package is priced at $16,300, positioning it as one of the premium upgrades available for the GMC Hummer EV SUV. In return, buyers not only get exclusive matte paint, but also a select design package and faster straight-line speed.

Magnus Gray Matte is paired exclusively with the Velocity Ember interior, making it the only cabin colorway available with this package. Other interior themes (Granite Drift and Stealth Eclipse) remain available elsewhere in the range, but are not combined with a matte finish. For those who don’t opt for the Carbon Fiber Edition, the 2026 Hummer EV still offers nine exterior color palettes, listed below (relevant paint colors are included in brackets):
- Auburn Matte (GNR)
- Coastal Dunes (G42)
- Deep Aurora Metallic (GXN)
- Graphite Blue Metallic (GAI)
- White Interstellar (GAZ)
- Matte Gray Magnus (GBL)
- Metallic Meteorite (GNO)
- Solar Orange (GAG)
- Clear Black (GBA)

Behind its bold styling, the GMC Hummer EV SUV continues to use the GM BT1 platform, which was created specifically for electric trucks and SUVs. Production once again took place at GM’s Factory Zero plant.
