The Chevy Bel Air is undoubtedly an icon of American automotive history, standing out from the rest thanks to its distinctive tail fins, eye-catching chrome accents, and distinctive presence. It’s true, the Bel Air helped define what a classic car should be, and remains one of the most famous and recognizable vintage models ever made by Chevrolet. Now, this 1957 Chevy Bel Air is up for grabs in a new sweepstakes, and GM Authority readers will get additional chances to win.

At the outset, we should mention that this raffle is part of a fundraising effort to support New Beginning Children’s Homes, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides long-term residential care for children in foster care. New Beginning Children’s Homes has a mission to provide children in foster care with a safe, family atmosphere where they can heal, grow, and be loved, with raffle proceeds going directly to fund the organization.
This particular Bel Air has been meticulously restored to factory specifications, and is presented in Harbor Blue paint with Black and Blue cloth and vinyl cab. It’s true, it’s quite a draw, as evidenced by a score of over 950 points out of a possible 1,000 points in the competition being judged.

Motivation came from a 283 cubic inch V8 engine, featuring a pair of four-barrel carburetors and a batwing-style air cleaner. The engine is mated to a Powerglide automatic transmission, making this particular Chevy perfect for cruising.
Further equipment highlights include vintage-style features such as a Wonder Bar radio and dual power antennas, while reproduction whitewall tires roll around the corners. Underneath the running gear, you’ll find new front disc brakes.

As one of the most famous classic Chevrolets ever produced, the 1957 Bel Air continues to hold a special place among collectors and enthusiasts, and this particular example is certainly no exception. To sweeten the deal, the grand prize winner will also receive $20,000 to help cover taxes.
