About GMC Canyon
The 2026 GMC Canyon serves as the fourth model year for the midsize pickup’s third generation, bringing several important updates and changes. It starts with the Canyon AT4X, which is once again a standalone trim level.
The 2026 Canyon also gets a new paint color along with two new wheel options, but this paint color is built-in. And the 2026 model adds a new Nightfall Essentials Package. Here’s a closer look.

The 2026 model features the same powertrain, namely a 2.7L I4 L3B turbocharged gasoline engine, which produces 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. The 2026 Canyon gets fuel economy rating changes, but the changes are very minor. It can tow up to 7,700 pounds, and handle payloads up to 1,670 pounds.
