Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Dead: Order Books Closed Soon

It’s almost the end of the Cadillac CT4. Back in October, the automaker confirmed production would wrap up in June, but before then, Cadillac had to close the order books. This will reportedly happen in just a few weeks.

According to a GM Authority Reports are that Cadillac will stop taking orders for the entire CT4, from the entry-level trim to the Blackwing, the week of April 20. Motor1 has reached out to Cadillac to confirm the report, and we’ll update this story if we hear back.



2024 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Review

The CT4 is Cadillac’s entry-level model and the only one priced under $40,000. The standard car has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while the CT4-V Blackwing packs a 427-hp twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6, and is available with a six-speed manual transmission.

Cadillac will also end production of the current CT5, but the automaker confirmed it will develop a next-generation model with a gasoline engine. It’s unclear when Cadillac will close the order books for this model.

The CT4 is Cadillac’s best-selling model. The brand sold just 5,616 CT4s in 2025—down 9.4 percent—compared to 16,561 CT5s. Year-to-date sedan sales rose 27.4 in the first three months of the year, with 1,547 sold. CT5 sales fell 13.3 percent.
