About the Chevy Equinox
The 2026 Chevy Equinox arrives largely unchanged compared to the all-new 2025 model, introducing only a few modest updates. Here’s everything new and different.
It added new Polar White Tricoat paint, but the Cacti Green paint color is no longer available to order.

The 2026 model offers the same 1.5L I4 LSD turbocharged gasoline engine as before, continuing from the previous generation, producing 175 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque when paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) in the front-wheel drive unit. In all-wheel-drive configuration, the Equinox is equipped with GM’s eight-speed automatic transmission, while engine torque is increased to 203 pound-feet. The 2026 Equinox sees changes in fuel economy ratings, albeit minor.
Although the 2026 Equinox eventually gets a trailer package, it is capable of towing up to 1,500 pounds.
The current manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the 2026 Chevy Equinox ranges from $30,795 to $35,595. This includes a destination shipping charge (DFC) of $1,995. Here are the prices with options and plans.

However, the Chevy ranked highly in J.D. Power’s 2026 US Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS), with the Equinox topping the compact SUV category.
Production of the upcoming 2027 Chevy Equinox is currently scheduled to begin the week of June 1stst2026, at GM’s San Luis Potosí Plant in Mexico, although GM plans to move Equinox production to GM’s Fairfax Plant next year. Notably, the 2027 Equinox will drop this transmission option, namely the CVT and opt for GM’s eight-speed automatic transmission for all configurations.
