GM has revealed a new trophy design for the upcoming 2026 Cadillac Championship, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the design process that blends movement and brand identity for the 2026 PGA Tour signature event.
The sculptural work reflects the dynamics of the golf swing and hints at Caddy’s broader design language, coinciding with a broader effort to align the brand with high-end luxury events, an effort that also includes an entry in the 2026 Formula 1 season.

As seen in a series of design study sketches, the process behind creating the new trophy begins with the golf swing. The sketch depicts a golfer moving through the phases of the swing, with particular emphasis on the arc created by the club head. The designer translated this movement into a continuous flowing line, capturing the transfer of energy from the backswing to the next.
As the concept developed, the human figure was abstracted, leaving simplified forms. The arc becomes the dominant visual element, eventually forming a sinuous ribbon-like structure. Meanwhile, the Cadillac script is subtly integrated near the base, while the finishing is done in a dark silver reminiscent of the metal body of a luxury car.

Caddy serves as title sponsor of the event, which is the only new event added to the regular 2026 Tour season. The event also marks the return of the top-flight tournament to Trump National Doral, a venue that has hosted the Tour for more than 50 years, while the partnership builds on Caddy’s previous involvement at Doral, including serving as title sponsor of the World Golf Championship in 2010. Between 2011 and 2016, the automaker held ownership rights to the WGC-Cadillac Championship.
“We are thrilled to welcome back Cadillac, a world-class brand whose partnership with the PGA Tour is synonymous with Trump National Doral, a heritage venue on our schedule,” said PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp.
This event will take place on Thursday, April 30th.
