The 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 is still officially under wraps, but so far, GM Authority has gathered a lot of information about what to expect from the next-generation pickup. Of course, it includes plenty of spy photos, including photos of the new 2027 Chevy Silverado ZR2. Now, GM Authority is serving up some exclusive new renderings for an early look at what’s to come.
Based on a combination of prototype photos and design patents filed last year, our renderings reveal the 2027 Chevy Silverado ZR2 to showcase a more aggressive and modern off-roader formula. At the front, the rendering shows a redesigned fascia with a squared-off grille and sculpted bumper. The lighting signature is also completely new, with a slim C-shaped signature and thin top signature combining to give the truck a sharper, more contemporary look. The lower section of the front bumper retains off-road-focused elements, including tow hooks and increased approach angles, reinforcing the ZR2’s track-ready feel.
On the sides, the truck features updated rearview mirrors, while at the rear, the rear window also features a revised shape, with a sleeker, squarer design. Riding on massive 35-inch tires (an upgrade from the current model’s 33-inch tires), the stance looks more planted and capable.
At the back, there are some notable changes visible. The exhaust outlet is not visible in the rendering, as it is placed under the truck for a cleaner look. However, it is likely that the production version will feature a four-tipped exhaust that is similar in design to the C8 Corvette Stingray.
A subtle rear spoiler is integrated into the top of the rear door, adding a sporty touch. The familiar CornerStep cutout in the rear bumper has also been trimmed slightly, while the rear light housings now extend further down the wing.
Looking ahead, the next-generation 2027 Silverado lineup is expected to feature several new powertrain options, including a new Gen Six Small Block V8 gasoline engine.
