The 2026 Chevy Silverado 1500 gets a patriotic twist with the new Stars & Steel Special Edition, arriving as part of Chevrolet’s broader Stars & Steel Special Edition lineup to mark the 250th commemoration of the Proclamation of Independence. As you might expect, the new 2026 Chevy Silverado Stars & Steel Special Edition has unique style and content, but it also comes with a significant price premium. Now, GM Authority is taking a closer look.

The Stars & Steel Special Edition package is designated with the code RPO USA and is offered exclusively for the RST trim level when selected for the 2026 Chevy Silverado 1500. The package itself has a stand-alone price of $14,395, but selecting this package also requires several additional options that significantly increase the overall cost.

For starters, buyers will need to equip the truck with a 6.2L V8 L87 naturally aspirated gasoline engine, priced at $3,980, along with front bucket seats and a center console (RPO code A50) for $655. This package also requires selecting the Leather Package (RPO code CXH) for $985.

To increase the total even further, selecting the L87 engine also requires certain options for the RST trim, namely the Active Exhaust system (RPO code NPP), which costs $395, and the Autotrac two-speed transfer case (RPO code NQH), which costs $200.

Taking all of these necessary components into account, the cumulative cost of the Stars & Steel Special Edition package and its prerequisites comes to a sizable $20,520. Applying that total to the base RST Crew Cab Short Bed model, which starts at $57,495 when equipped with the standard 2.7L I4 L3B turbocharged petrol engine, the total price rises to $78,015.

It’s also worth noting that the Stars & Steel Special Edition is different from the similarly named and more affordable Stars & Steel Appearance Pack. GM Authority covered previously.

Overall, the 2026 Chevy Silverado 1500 rides on the GM T1 platform, while vehicle production takes place at the GM Fort Wayne Assembly plant in Indiana, GM Silao Assembly in Mexico, and GM Oshawa Assembly in Canada (although every unit of the Stars & Steel Special Edition collection is manufactured in the US).
