Chevrolet Vintage Auctioning Second Batch Of Restored Classics

General Motors just announced that the Chevrolet Vintage project will auction off its second batch of restored classic cars, following the successful sale of a 1994 Chevy Omega sedan in December.

The automaker’s Brazilian subsidiary announced the opening of auctions for the second batch of restored classic cars from the Chevrolet Vintage project, a special initiative launched on GM’s 100th anniversary celebration.th the anniversary of its operations and the presence of the Bowtie brand in the largest country in South America. The new auction lot includes three iconic models from the brand produced in Brazil, which will be offered to the public in early May.

“The Vintage Project rescues and restores classic Chevrolet models that marked an era. Ten iconic models produced in Brazil between the 1960s and 2000s were selected to receive meticulous reconstruction, guaranteeing authenticity and quality in every detail,” said GM Brazil. “More than just showcasing rare cars, this program aims to preserve the brand’s automotive heritage and share it with the public, turning each car into a tribute to the memory and passion of the nation’s classic cars,” the company added.

Specifically, the second Vintage Chevrolet lot includes three vehicles: two typical 1970s Chevy Opala SS Coupes – a 1976 model in yellow and a 1979 model in green – and a 2004 Chevy S10 Rally competition car that was part of GM’s official team in competitions such as the Rally dos Sertões. The vehicle represents the first restomod-style project, where the vehicle retains its visual and emotional identity, but incorporates mechanical and styling improvements.

Paying homage to the dominant colors of the Brazilian flag, both Chevy Opala SS models feature the same aesthetic finish and an updated 4.1L engine with FuelTech electronic fuel injection, paired with a five-speed Tremec transmission that makes them suitable for modern driving. Meanwhile, the 2004 Chevy S10 Rally retains key features from the era, including a rebuilt 2.8L MWM turbodiesel engine from the original supplier and a five-speed Eaton transmission.

The official auction of the second restored classic car from the Chevrolet Vintage project will be held on Saturday, May 2Andat the CARDE Museum in Campos do Jordao, Brazil. The auction will be held live, and online bidding will also be available. Part of the proceeds from the GM Brazil project will be donated to philanthropic activities. The 2004 S10 Rally, built specifically for racing, was never sold commercially, further emphasizing its unique and historic status.
