  • Hyundai is recalling 46,787 2026 Palisade SUVs due to seat belt problems.
  • A damaged cable can cause the seat belt warning light to indicate a faulty latch.
  • Hyundai will solve this problem by installing a longer wiring harness.

Hyundai is recalling the 2026 Palisade due to another seat issue, this time involving the third-row driver’s side seat belt assembly. Passengers may damage the internal cable when pulling the buckle, which may cause the warning light to indicate a faulty latch.

The recall affects 46,787 2026 Palisade SUVs, but only the Limited and Calligraphy trims. According to recall reportHyundai first became aware of the potential issue in January and began investigating the cause. The automaker suspected the cable was present and decided earlier this month to issue a recall.

Hyundai said it was aware of five reports of vehicles experiencing the defect. The Company is not aware of any fires, injuries, fatalities, or accidents related to this issue. The automaker will fix the defect by replacing the internal wiring harness, which is 4.3 inches longer. Service technicians can also replace the seat belt buckle assembly, if necessary.

Other 2026 Palisade Recalls

Last week, Hyundai had to recall the SUV following the death of a small child in Ohio. Palisade Limited and Calligraphy models have second and third row seats that may not detect passengers or objects during certain power seat functions, which could cause injury or worse.

This withdrawal affecting 61,093 vehicles. Beyond that one death, the automaker said it was aware of four injury reports and 20 field claims related to the defect.

The automaker is still working to fix the problem permanently and urges owners to be careful when operating the second and third row power seat functions. It is still determining the root cause and, in the meantime, will issue an update to the power seat control software to reduce the risk of injury.
