Chevy Average Transaction Price Rises In March 2026

The average transaction price (ATP) for new Chevys increased last month, reflecting a broader industry preference for larger, higher-priced vehicles.

According to Kelley Blue Book, as reported Cox AutomotiveThe ATP for a new Chevy was recorded at $48,798 last month, a 3.4 percent year-over-year increase compared to an ATP of $47,199 in March 2025, and a 0.4 percent decrease compared to an ATP of $48,979 in February 2026.

GM (including all four US brands, Chevy, Buick, Cadillac and GMC) recorded an ATP of $53,474 in March 2026, an increase of 3.8 percent year-over-year compared to an ATP of $51,521 in March 2025, and an increase of 0.3 percent month-over-month compared to an ATP of $53,323 in February 2026.

In the broader U.S. auto market, the average transaction price reached $49,275 in March, an increase of 3.5 percent from the same period last year. This represents the fourth consecutive month of price increases year-on-year, which is in line with broader historical norms. Kelley Blue Book and Cox Automotive stated that the increase was largely driven by a shift in sales mix to higher-priced vehicle segments, particularly full-size SUVs and pickup trucks, while demand for compact and subcompact vehicles continued to decline. Month-on-month, prices remained relatively stable, down just 0.1 percent from February.

Meanwhile, the average manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) exceeds $50,000 for 12 unitsth consecutive months, earning $51,456. The figure marks an increase of 3.9 percent year-on-year and an increase of 0.1 percent month-on-month. Incentives also increased, reaching 7.2 percent of ATP in March, up from 6.9 percent in February and 7.1 percent in March 2025.

Based on price breakdown by segment, price increases were below the industry average in most categories. Midsize SUVs posted an average transaction price of $49,853, up 2.8 percent year over year; while compact SUVs cost $37,055 on average, up 2.1 percent. Full-size pickup trucks hit $65,964, up 2.8 percent; Subcompact SUVs averaged $30,612, up 2.2 percent; and compact cars saw the smallest increase at 1.1 percent, with an average price of $27,469.

In the field of electric vehicles, the price trend is moving in the opposite direction. The average transaction price for an electric vehicle fell 2.8 percent year over year to $54,508 and was down 0.7 percent from February, marking the third consecutive monthly decline. Incentives for electric vehicles rose to 14.6 percent of ATP, up from 14.2 percent in February and 12.9 percent a year earlier.
