  • More than 80 percent of Passport sales last month were for the TrailSport trim.
  • Passport sales rose 20.1 percent during the first three months of the year.
  • Honda sales fell 5.2 percent overall for the first quarter of 2026.

The Honda Passport TrailSport is nothing new. It debuted in 2022, but didn’t really become a formidable offering until Honda gave it a thorough refresh for 2026. The SUV received a wide range of genuine off-road goodies, which have been a huge success, as sales show. The majority of Passport buyers last month opted for the rugged TrailSport trim.

Of the nearly 5,000 Passports sold last month, more than 80 percent were TrailSport models, which is a mid-range offering. The Passport TrailSport features 31-inch tires, steel skid plates, heavy-duty tow hooks and 8.3 inches of ground clearance.

Although the TrailSport had a strong month, Passport sales were down 10.4 percent in March but up 20.1 percent through the first three months of 2026. Honda has sold 14,045 Passports so far this year.

Decline in Honda Sales

The CR-V remains Honda’s best-selling model by a wide margin, with nearly 100,000 sold through the first three months of 2026. It’s well ahead of the Civic at 57,6000 units, but sales of both models are down for the year—by 3.8 and 2.3 percent, respectively.

Accord sales increased rapidly throughout March, rising 21.9 percent to 37,317 units. The vintage Ridgeline is the only other Honda model to see sales increase in 2026, up 0.3 percent. Other product lines experienced a decline in sales.

Motorcycle Pickup1: Buyers may like the new Passport TrailSport, and sales may be up 20 percent, but that’s not enough to counter the overall decline. Honda’s mixed sales results this quarter overshadowed a difficult March, with the brand’s sales down 12.9 percent last month.
