Chris Feuell resigned from his position as CEO of Chrysler. According to Automotive NewsThe move was for personal reasons. Feuell has led the minivan-only brand since 2021, while also overseeing Alfa Romeo’s North American operations.

Stellantis has named current Dodge CEO Matt McAlear as his successor. McAlear will continue to run Dodge, handle key Chrysler duties, and oversee Alfa Romeo.

McAlear took over Chrysler after the company posted a one percent year-over-year sales increase. However, the brand only has two products, and both are minivans: the Pacifica and the Voyager.

The new Pacifica is slated to arrive in 2027, but Chrysler could also benefit from a full-size premium sedan. There are rumors that a new 300 is in development, but the brand could definitely use an SUV as well.

As for Alfa Romeo, McAlear has a tougher road ahead. Sales fell 36 percent last year, and the model lineup will receive updates that are more than just a mild facelift. There’s a new Giulia slated to arrive soon, but we still don’t know exactly what it will look like.

Motor Pickup1: Matt McAlear has big plans for Dodge with the return of the V8 engine to the lineup. Maybe Chrysler could borrow a little from that portfolio. Put a Chrysler badge on the Durango, make the inside nicer, and raise the price.

Maybe Chrysler could even develop a performance brand equivalent to Dodge’s Hellcat variant. Chrysler 300 Hellcat, anyone?
