About the Chevrolet Express

The 2026 Chevy Express continues to be one of GM’s longest-running brands, marking more than three decades on the market. It arrived without any notable changes this year.

As before, buyers can choose between Cargo Van and Passenger van variants, including 2500 Regular Wheelbase, 2500 Extended Wheelbase, 3500 Regular Wheelbase and 3500 Extended Wheelbase.

Here’s all the Express 2026:

Powertrain options are unchanged from the 2025 model. Customers are offered a 4.3L V6 LV1 naturally aspirated petrol engine as standard specification, which produces 276 horsepower and 298 pound-feet of torque, while a naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T petrol engine is also offered, producing 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are paired with GM’s eight-speed automatic transmission (V8 models get a heavy-duty variant), with rear-wheel drive (RWD) included as a standard layout.

As discussed previously, the towing capacity of the Chevy Express depends on its configuration. Extended wheelbase models equipped with the V6 engine can tow up to 6,300 pounds, while regular wheelbase models can tow up to 6,700 pounds. The V8 option dramatically increases these figures, with a maximum towing capacity of 9,200 pounds for the extended wheelbase model and 9,600 pounds for the regular wheelbase model in Passenger Van configuration. The Cargo Van variant has a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds when equipped with a V8 engine.
