2028 Chevy Blazer Rendered

General Motors is preparing a mid-cycle refresh for its ICE-powered Chevy Blazer crossover, reversing previous plans to end production of the gasoline-powered mid-engine outright. Fast forward to the start of this year, and GM Authority reports that an updated ICE-powered Blazer will launch for the 2028 model year, while early prototypes were spotted just a month later. Now, GM Authority has created two new renderings based on those spy images, offering a preview of what the updated 2028 Chevy Blazer might look like.

Our 2028 Chevy Blazer renderings feature an evolution of the current design, not a complete redesign. The overall body structure, including the sides and general proportions, is a continuation of the old model introduced for the 2019 model year. However, important changes to the front and rear fascias give the vehicle a more modern and bold look.

Up front, the biggest change is the move towards a more squared-off look. The fascia appears more upright, while the lighting setup has also been given a slight tweak. Note that the thin upper “eyebrow” lighting signature will likely double as a turn signal and hazard indicator, while the lower lighting element provides primary lighting to the front, an approach already seen on some GM crossovers. Also note the two-tone roof.

Not pictured is an update to the rear, which is also expected to get some minor changes. But inside, we expect the updated 2028 Chevy Blazer to offer more substantial updates, likely adopting a similar cockpit layout to the larger three-row Chevy Traverse. Highlights of the updated cabin will include a large (17.7-inch) central infotainment screen paired with an 11-inch digital instrument cluster. Additionally, the center stack will likely feature fewer physical controls, shifting more functionality to the touchscreen.

The 2028 Chevy Blazer will be built at GM’s Spring Hill plant in Tennessee, with the first units rolling out in the first half of 2027. GM Authority for more information about what to expect.
