Chevy Traverse Get An Extended Radiator Hose Leak Warranty

Posted on

General Motors is expanding warranty coverage for coolant leaks affecting three of its most popular crossover utilities. The 2024-2026 Chevy Traverse, 2024-2026 GMC Acadia, and 2025-2026 Buick Enclave now get special protection for quick-connect radiator intake hoses that may leak. Coverage lasts for five years or 60,000 miles from the date of initial use of the vehicle, regardless of ownership.

GM special coverage bulletin, N262546590takes effect April 1st2026. Dealer will replace suspect hose seals at no charge. If the hose is not leaking, the dealer does not repair it. If it leaks, the technician drains the cooling system, removes the inlet hose, and removes the old seal. They then clean the quick connect fixture with a lint-free cloth – no soap, no detergent, no wire brush. Compressed air dries the parts. The new side of the seal should face the open end of the hose. Install it upside down, and the connector will not engage.

“We are taking this action for your continued satisfaction with our products,” wrote Neelie O’Connor, Global Executive Director of Customer Experience Operations at GM, in a letter to owners.

GM is warning dealers not to order these seals for shelf stock. Parts availability for the Chevy Traverse and other crossovers remains limited. Automakers expect few vehicles to require repairs. For those who did, the repair took 1.1 man hours. The owner paid for these repairs before April 1stst2026, can request reimbursement, but must apply by April 30th2027. GM will not accept the assignment of reimbursement claims to third parties, including service contract providers. Courtesy transportation only applies if the customer qualifies under existing GM policies.

Owners should be cautioned not to mistake this for a recall. Special coverage has less regulatory weight but provides the same result: GM pays to fix a known weakness. Check your VIN in the Applicable Warranties section of the GM warranty system. A leaking radiator hose leaves you stranded. The general is now picking up the tab.
