2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Revealed: Specs, Details, Photos

It’s been almost two months since Mercedes updated the Benz S-Class, and now they’re giving the luxury Maybach version a similar makeover. The Germans have managed to make their flagship even more luxurious by adding an additional double M logo. You’ll notice it on the front air intakes, while the emblem that adorns the C-pillar now lights up. Even the three-pointed star hood ornament lights up.

Elsewhere, the grille is 20 percent larger and features illuminated contours and a backlit Maybach wordmark. Projectors mounted on the side sills remind everyone that this is not a regular Benz S-Class, but a more expensive version. Like Benz models that recently underwent a facelift, a prominent three-pointed star motif appears on the headlights and taillights to emphasize this impression.

While you and I might call these changes flashy, Mercedes claims these new elements “exhibit quiet authority, never showiness.” The same goes for the self-leveling wheel center caps, and yes, the striking wheel design with lots of Maybach logos will continue on the facelifted model.

One percenters can order the luxobarge in one of 150+ available colors, including a two-tone finish and a fresh Nautic Blue color. Maybach also added new wheel designs, including a 20-inch set with a polished finish and a larger 21-inch set with gold accents.

Vehicles equipped with Level 2 certified MB.Drive Assist Pro can be distinguished by cameras mounted on the front fenders. Mercedes first launched this technology in China, followed by the United States. Availability in Europe is possible, but it will only happen if regulatory conditions allow it.

The interior is where all the magic happens in ultra-high-end sedans, and the 2027 Maybach S-Class is no exception. Customers can choose from more than 400 colors, including four new two-tone leather upholstery options that combine Carmine Red, Lake Green, Corn Yellow and Tobacco Brown with Black.

As expected, the facelift aligns the Maybach version with the lesser Benz version in terms of technology. The dashboard is dominated by a three-screen layout featuring a 14.4-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch passenger display and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster. At the rear, the dual 13.1-inch tablet is equipped with a remote control to adjust not only the entertainment system but also convenience features such as climate control and electric blinds.

From an automatic tailgate and champagne flutes to ambient lighting with 199 LEDs and 64 colors to choose from, the Maybach S-Class has everything but the kitchen sink. As before, the wheelbase is longer than the Benz S-Class which has a long wheelbase, so there is plenty of legroom in the back. For a more luxurious ride, Mercedes claims to have added more sound insulation and a new air suspension with real-time adaptive dampers.
