Sometimes, a car’s biggest improvement comes from taking something away. In the case of the Ferrari Amalfi Spider, that meant losing the coupe’s fixed roof and replacing it with a carefully engineered soft top designed with specific shapes and materials.
The Ferrari Amalfi Spider debuted as a 2+ convertible that allowed passengers to enjoy the V8 engine with the roof open. It continues Ferrari’s long tradition of open-top models—cars that have long been milestones for enthusiasts and, often, collectors.
Ferrari Amalfi Spider: Top & Exterior

Developed by Ferrari Design Studio, the Amalfi Spider is designed to look attractive with the roof up and down. With the top up, the coupe’s sleek silhouette is maintained. Lower the roof, and the proportions become more distinctive and expressive.
Clean, sculpted surfaces shaped by light give the car a modern yet elegant feel, with the automatic soft top naturally taking center stage.
In addition to the integrated rear window, the roof features a five-layer fabric construction of varying thicknesses arranged in a “sandwich” structure, designed to help isolate passengers from outside noise.
The soft top is available in four custom fabric colors and two technical fabric options, including the new “Tecnico Ottanio.” The design blends perfectly with the rest of the car, whether the roof is open or closed, and the same weave can also be repeated on the tonneau cover and surrounding surfaces.
As expected, the Amalfi Spider has undergone extensive aerodynamic development to regulate airflow and balance downforce. At the rear, it features an integrated active rear wing with three settings, capable of producing up to 243 pounds of downforce at 155 mph in High Downforce mode.

Airflow management is also key to passenger comfort—especially when the roof is down. To overcome this, the new Ferrari includes a wind deflector.
This wind barrier is integrated into the rear seat backrest and helps reduce turbulence and noise. It can be deployed with the press of a button, while folding it simply requires pushing it back into its case.
Inside, a sporty and elegant impression is present in a series of minimalist, contemporary design solutions. The central tunnel takes the form of an aluminum suspension bridge, while the door panels feature a style inspired by nautical design.
The instrument display resides in a monolithic cockpit structure that also features air vents, while two additional screens handle the infotainment and passenger display functions.
For those considering a longer road trip, it’s worth noting that the folded roof is 220 millimeters thick. When the top is down, trunk capacity drops from 9.0 to 6.1 cubic feet.
Ferrari Amalfi Spider: Engine & Technology

Power comes from a pure twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 engine that produces 631 horsepower. The engine belongs to Ferrari’s award-winning F154e family and, in the Amalfi Spider, produces a specific output of 163 hp per liter. Curb weight is 3,430 pounds—about 176 pounds more than the coupe.
Updates to the turbocharging system, a new lightweight camshaft (saving 2.9 lbs), and a redesigned engine block with precision machining help optimize mass and thermal management.
The Spider also benefits from some of Ferrari’s latest technology. The eight-speed wet-clutch dual-clutch transmission is the same unit used in the SF90 Stradale, while the ABS Evo system comes from the 296 GTB and was later refined for models such as the Purosangue and 12Cilindri.
Also included is Side Slip Control (SSC) 6.1, which coordinates all vehicle dynamics systems—from steering and torque management to vertical body movement control—to maximize performance.
The Manettino offers five driving modes—Wet, Comfort, Sport, Race, and ESC-Off—allowing the driver to adjust the level of intervention from systems such as F1-Trac, suspension dampers, and the electronic differential.
Ferrari also includes a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems. These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition and assistance, and driver fatigue or distraction monitoring. Optional features include Around View and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Ferrari Amalfi Spider: Price & Performance
While the Ferrari Amalfi coupe is priced at around €240,000 in Europe, removing the fixed roof and adding the traction of a soft top brings the Amalfi Spider’s starting price to around €270,000.
Orders are now open, with first deliveries expected in early 2027.
