Euphemistically, it could be called the GMC Hummer EV different. It’s true, with its high-tech electric powertrain, capable off-road capabilities, and bold, rugged styling, the Hummer EV is clearly one of the most exciting new vehicles on the market. Now, a new set of unofficial renderings claiming to be a preview of the 2027 GMC Hummer EV SUV have surfaced online, and we think they’re worth a closer look.

While these new renderings are clearly AI-generated, the design offers an interesting reinterpretation of the Hummer EV formula we’re all familiar with. At first glance, the new renderings present a cleaner, more sculpted look for the all-electric off-roader – while the front fascia retains its trademark full-width lighting elements, and is integrated into a sleeker, more cohesive grille design. The body sides appear smoother, with fewer exposed cladding elements and flatter surfaces, giving the vehicle a refined, almost concept car-like appearance.
Large, stylish wheels and simplified details further emphasize the premium aesthetic. The greenhouse is slightly slimmer, and the rear design adopts a more refined look with vertical lighting elements that are less harsh and more architectural. Overall, we think this rendering leans towards a modern luxury SUV interpretation, rather than a hardcore off-roader.

In comparison, the production Hummer looks much more rugged, sporting thick cladding and an aggressive bumper. The front is upright and bold, while the rear is equipped with a spare tire mounted on the tailgate.
Of course, it’s also worth noting that, despite the speculation implied in these renderings, there are currently no confirmed design changes planned for the Hummer EV for the 2027 model year. Otherwise, the vehicle’s design isn’t expected to change much for the foreseeable future. You can also check out our previous coverage to learn about the extended 2026 Hummer production cycle.
