Lexus has delivered interior updates and ES technology for the European market, keeping the midsize sedan updated for the 2023 model year. These enhancements aim to enhance the entire in-car experience, plus additional comfort features to keep up with the times.

For 2023, the Lexus ES builds on the updates for the 2022 model year. It received an updated multimedia system, said to provide faster response, more intuitive operation and access to more functions. It also features cloud-based navigation, improved voice command recognition, and wireless Apple CarPlay. Unfortunately, Android smartphone users have to settle for a wired connection.

Meanwhile, the new cloud-based navigation aims to provide real-time road and traffic information, which includes local fuel and parking prices. The on-board assistant “Hey Lexus” responds to audio prompts, including informal comments like “I’m cold.”

Lexus also upgraded the car’s data communication module, now allowing the ES to connect to the internet. This allows the ES to use e-Care, remote diagnostic services, as well as the use of the Lexus Link smartphone app which can remotely lock or unlock doors, operate hazard lights, and set the air conditioner to the desired setting.

The Lexus ES 2023 also gets a revised center console. Gone are the days of the touchpad, now replaced by a pair of cupholders. The wireless charging tray is now also out of the console box, while USB-A and USB-C ports are available. There is also a new Amon Sand interior color option.

Meanwhile, the new ES F Sport Design trim is now available for Europe, featuring a set of 19-inch alloy wheels, 10 exterior color options, 4 interior options, and an F Sport Design badge near the fenders.

Production of the Lexus ES 2023 will begin in August. We’ve contacted Lexus USA to check if this update will arrive in the US. We will update this story once we hear from the company.
