We know that the new Kia EV6 is fast though not in the highest GT trim. Like almost all modern electric vehicles, this South Korean hatchback crossover offers fast acceleration and great power at any speed. But is that enough to beat one of the best sports cars of the past?

Let’s look at the numbers. Within these specs, the EV6 relies on two electric motors, one for each axle, with a combined peak output of 325 horsepower (239 kilowatts) and 446 pound-feet (605 Newton-meters) of torque. Power reaches all four wheels instantly and the electric car weighs 4,608 pounds (2,090 kilograms). Simply put, this is a fairly powerful yet heavy hatchback with good traction.

On the other hand, Ferrari uses a naturally-aspirated 3.5-liter V8 engine that produces 380 hp (279 kW) and 265 lb-ft (360 Nm) of torque. Unlike the Kia, the power in the supercar only reaches the rear wheels and this could be one of its biggest drawbacks. Secondly, it has a manual transmission, which can also be considered a disadvantage. On the other hand, it is significantly lighter at 2,976 lbs (1,350 kg). On the first tun, Kia was an easy winner. That’s probably due to Ferrari’s poor start and relatively slow gear change. We wouldn’t blame the driver for not moving the shifter too fast, as he might be trying to be gentle on the Prancing Horse.
