Those who have ordered the 2023 Corvette Stingray have one good reason to be grateful that they are not procrastinating. As of today, the mid-engined sports car is $2,300 higher than before, with a base $64,200 plus $1,395 destination for the 1LT coupe.
Based on Corvette Blogger, that delta also applies to other members of the Stingray family. The Chevrolet Corvette 2LT coupe is $72,895 by destination, while the 3LT is $77,545. If the coupe’s removable roof panels aren’t enough and you want a power-folding hardtop from the Stingray convertible, be prepared to shell out more. The 1LT convertible starts at $73,095, rising to $79,895 for the 2LT and $84,545 for the 3LT. The additional $2,300 is in addition to the $1,000 price increase it gave the 2023 Corvette in March, and it hasn’t reflected on your own automaker’s tools as of press time.
We confirmed the upgrade with Trevor Thompkins, from the Chevrolet car, performance and motorsports communications team.
“The MSRP of the 2023 Corvette Stingray coupe and convertible has been increased effective June 13,” said Thompkins. “Customers with sold orders submitted before the price increase took effect will not be affected by the change. We monitor and adjust prices on all of our products regularly, and we believe the Corvette remains the formula for excellence in performance and achievement.”
On the last front, Thormpkins is certainly right. There aren’t many $65,000 cars out there that can hit 60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour) in three seconds, let alone a car with an exotic mid-engine style and 70-year heritage. But while the price hike won’t put buyers of the new 2023 Corvette in the poor house, it’s a bit frustrating. The ‘Vette is still a little cheaper to start with than the Porsche 718 Cayman ($64,850), but $2,300 relative to the older model puts it further out of reach for most of us.
