The all-new Cadillac Lyriq 2023 has officially launched in the Chinese market.

Cadillac’s China joint venture, SAIC-GM, officially announced the launch of the battery electric crossover at a special presentation in Shanghai, announcing suggested starting prices for each of the three variants available in the Asian country. The luxury brand has also started taking orders for Lyriq.

There has been a slight name change to the available trim levels for the Lyriq, which was Cadillac’s first electric vehicle. The base model will retain the Luxury moniker, but the higher-level trim will now be called Prestige instead of Premium. The base Cadillac Lyriq Luxury AWD has a suggested price of 439,700 CNY ($65,890 USD), while the Lyriq Prestige RWD starts at 459,700 CNY ($68,870 USD). Lastly, the top-of-the-range Lyriq Prestige AWD has a suggested starting price of 579,700 CNY ($71,870 USD).

The rear-wheel drive variant uses a single Ultium Drive motor mounted on the rear axle, supplying 342 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque and offering a driving range of 312 miles. The AWD Prestige model adds a second motor to the front axle, producing 503 horsepower and 524 pound-feet of torque with a range of 287 miles from a full charge.

Cadillac also announced that deliveries of the remote models will begin this September via the IQ Store network, while the AWD Prestige models will reach dealerships in early 2023. Production of the Cadillac Lyriq 2023 is already underway at China’s Jinqiao plant in Shanghai.

Test drives are expected to be available at dealerships in July, and interested parties can make a 5,000 Yuan ($750 USD) deposit to secure their order.

“Lyriq marks the beginning of a new era for our iconic brand and only the beginning for our transformation to an all-electric portfolio,” said Cadillac Vice President in China, Chris Biggs, in a statement. “This will appeal to today’s generation of tech-savvy Chinese consumers who appreciate Cadillac’s stunning design and more than a century of innovation history. This innovative product introduces a unique luxury EV experience that will characterize all Cadillac EVs.”
