Following V12-powered one-off engines like the Omologata and BR20, Ferrari’s latest unique creation has a V8 heart. The SP48 Unica is based on the F8 Tributo, but you wouldn’t tell right away as the body has been largely redesigned. One-of-a-kind creations commissioned by longtime clients involved in development. Prancing Horse goes so far as to say that buyers have their voice at every step of the process.
The all-new front fascia was created using procedural-parametric modeling techniques and 3D prototyping. We see some Roma influence as the SP48 Unica has a similar tridimensional effect for the grille. This gives the supercar a fresh frontal design compared to the all-familiar F8 Tributo and the 488 and 458 that preceded it.

As for the rear, it’s much slimmer than before after removing the windows and replacing the quad round taillights with sleek LED bars that also exude a Roma vibe. An additional change is seen in the profile because apart from the new wheel design, the SP48 Unica has different side air intakes that are mounted slightly lower. It also uses more black surfaces for the side skirts.
While images of the interior haven’t been released yet, an adjacent official video shows the cabin being largely carried over from the F8 Tributo. In addition to the missing rear window, the unique build proudly carries the “SP48 Unica” badge on the passenger side of the dashboard. In addition, the seats use laser perforated Alcantara, which has also been applied to other familiar interior areas.
Ferrari didn’t say a word about any mechanical changes, so it’s most likely inheriting the twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 engine from the F8 Tributo. In that car, it puts 710 horsepower and 770 Newton-meters (568 pound-feet) of torque to catapult the Italian stallion to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.9 seconds. It does 0 to 124 mph (200 km/h) in 7.8 seconds and maxes out at 211 mph (340 km/h).
No word on pricing, but surely Ferrari is asking for a hefty premium for the SP48 Unica over the $280,000 F8 Tributo.
