Suffolk PD Shows Off C8 Corvette Police Car: Video

The Suffolk County Police Department turned heads with a unique addition to its fleet, showing off its new C8 Chevy Corvette Stingray. The mid-engined sports car has been redesigned with a special wrap and was recently featured in a series of posts on social media. According to Suffolk County police, the C8 was not purchased for normal duty, but rather was confiscated after a second DWI conviction and will be used as a tool to educate the public.

According to the department, the Corvette “is more than just eye-catching.” Rather than being used as a traditional patrol vehicle, the C8 will appear at community events as part of an ongoing effort to raise awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Visually, the C8 Corvette police car makes a strong impression. Finished in a clean white exterior, the car features a Suffolk County Police livery complete with bold blue “POLICE” lettering on the doors and “Suffolk County” writing along the underside of the body. Red and blue stripes run from the front fenders to the doors to the rear haunches, giving the car a classic law enforcement aesthetic adapted to a modern sports car silhouette.

Up front, the Corvette retained its sharp, angular fascia with large side intakes and a low nose, now equipped with police identification. Out back, the mid-engine layout is clearly visible through the rear window, where large white lettering reads “DWI SEIZURE” alongside a reference to Suffolk County law enforcement, reinforcing the car’s role as an educational tool.

From the side profile, the Corvette’s wedge-shaped shape and sculpted body lines are accentuated by the factory multi-spoke wheels, which contrast with the white paint. The low ride height, wide track and prominent side air intakes remain unchanged.

Sitting alongside more traditional police SUVs, the clad C8 looks very comfortable, especially with the special red and blue lights engaged.
