The Chevy Silverado EV is available in several trim levels and configurations, including an affordable and capable Work Truck variant. Now, some Silverado EV WT owners are getting replacements for missing features that were ordered, but never installed.

According to Customer Satisfaction Program N262546840, Silverado EV owners who choose backup alarm calibration (RPO SFW), a fleet-specific option not available on certain units, will receive a $50 check ($85 in Canada). Backup alarm calibration allows installation of an aftermarket backup alarm while deactivating the truck’s rear perimeter lighting. That option is not currently available to order, and truck buyers are being mistakenly charged for it.
The reimbursement applies to buyers of 2025 and 2026 model year Silverado EV Work Truck units, and in total, 915 owners across the United States will receive a check in the mail. Chevy dealers can find out which customers are affected through the GM Global Connect Maxis Field Action Reports or the GWM Field Action Batch Search Report, which displays the VINs of trucks that did not receive calibration. However, none of those 915 units are currently being held at dealers as new inventory. This program is valid until April 30th2028. Owners will also be notified directly by GM.

The 2026 Chevy Silverado EV Work Truck is offered in three configurations, differentiated by battery capacity. The Standard Range 4WT is equipped with a 14-module battery with a capacity of around 120 kW, suitable for an estimated driving range of 286 miles on a full charge. The Extended Range 5WT gets a 20-module battery with a capacity of about 170 kW, for a range of up to 424 miles, while the 8WT Max Range truck has a 24-module, 205 kW battery for a maximum range of 493 miles.
For the 2026 model year, the Silverado EV WT receives an upgraded infotainment system, including the larger 17.7-inch touchscreen found on higher-end trim levels. However, it misses out on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The Work Truck is also available with a new Custom package to enhance the truck’s appearance. Across the lineup, the Silverado EV gets three new paint colors, a Stars & Steel Special Edition package that brings back the RST trim level, and a Stars & Steel appearance package. The Silverado EV Trail Boss also debuted this year.

The Chevy Silverado EV is produced at GM’s Factory Zero assembly plant in Hamtramck, Michigan, alongside the GMC Sierra EV, GMC Hummer EV, and Cadillac Escalade IQ.
