“In the first few days, I was in Zurich to meet with the General Motors Europe team, get to know the business better, and reconnect with new and old colleagues,” Dunstan wrote. “I look forward to meeting teams in our other regions soon.”
Dunstan also highlighted his previous experience with GM, which includes brands such as Cadillac, Chevrolet, Vauxhall and Opel, and spans a variety of global markets, including Europe, Russia, the United States, China and Central and Southeast Asia.
“It is an honor to return and help shape the next chapter, supported by a strong portfolio, innovative technology and significant opportunities in markets that are critical to GM’s future,” Dunstan wrote.

Dunstan has decades of experience in GM’s global operations. Most recently, he served in senior leadership roles overseeing strategic markets, alliances and distributors, with previous leadership roles including serving as General Director for Chevrolet’s China operations, Vice President at Cadillac in New York, and President and Vice President of GM Russia. Earlier in his career, he held key commercial and operational roles across Europe, including Executive Director of Sales for Opel Europe in Germany, Director of Retail Sales for Vauxhall in the UK, and Director of Operations positions in the UK and South East Europe. His career at GM began in a sales and marketing position at Vauxhall, where he spent nearly a decade building foundational experience in the European market.

In addition to his extensive professional background, Dunstan also has strong academic credentials, earning a Master of Science in International Management with distinction from Lancaster University between 2017 and 2019, complementing his previous Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Organizational Studies from the same institution.
Dunstan’s return comes at a time when GM continues to expand its presence in international markets beyond North America, including a concerted effort to expand the Cadillac and Chevrolet brands throughout Europe.
