As GM Authority has been discussed, General Motors has finally given the green light to move forward with a new Chevy Camaro replacement, which will use an updated GM Alpha 2-2 platform with internal combustion under the hood. Of course, this is big news, prompting a surge of interest from enthusiasts. Unfortunately, this has also resulted in a wave of AI-generated photos aimed at capitalizing on the hype. Now, we are here to say the following – don’t be fooled.

First and foremost, we must reiterate that these images are nothing close to the official images. In fact, GM hasn’t released any official design previews, teasers, or concept images of its new Chevy Camaro replacement, or any official information.
At first glance, the image appears to depict a new generation Camaro with aggressive styling. Clad in bright orange paint, we see sharp LED lighting, large wheels, and a prominent rear wing. At the front, we see the large air intakes and bonnet, while the proportions suggest the performance of a low-slung rear-wheel-drive engine. The people behind the images even created the interiors.

While eye-catching, there are some indications that these images were created using AI. For example, the front combines elements of the sixth-generation Camaro with other sporty nameplates (the Dodge Charger seems to play a role), while some of the text has the typical AI muddle.
Granted, none of these images reflect the actual design of the upcoming Chevy Camaro replacement. Although the Alpha 2-2’s platform suggests a rear-wheel-drive layout and performance-oriented proportions, the final product design remains unknown at this time. In fact, at this stage, the only confirmed details regarding the Camaro replacement are the underlying architecture (front engine, rear-wheel drive) and the fact that it will rely on internal combustion, rather than fully electric power. Everything else should be taken with a very large grain of salt.

Enthusiasts should also keep in mind that the Camaro’s upcoming replacement may not fully live up to the expectations established by the previous generation. We’ll have more information on that topic soon, so be sure to check back there GM Authority on Sunday, April 12thto learn more.
