2026 Toyota Recall List: Every Model Affected

Posted on

Toyota may be known for its rock-solid reliability, but the automaker also issues several recalls a year due to various defects. So far in 2026, the Japanese automaker has issued nine recalls affecting 1,024,794 vehicles.

The automaker’s biggest recall is its latest—550,000 Highlander SUVs with reclining second-row seats that may not lock properly after adjustment. The smallest recall Toyota is carrying out isn’t even on its vehicles, but rather service replacement parts. The automaker had to recall 79 headlights not designed for the American market that may have been installed on the bz4X EV.

Toyota has issued two other recalls so far this year affecting more than 100,000 vehicles. The 2024-2025 Tundra is being recalled due to rearview camera images that may not display, while Toyota is recalling nearly 150,000 Prius models due to rear doors that may open unexpectedly.

So far this year, Toyota has carried out the third most recalls after General Motors and Ford Motor Company and divides the difference based on the total number of affected cars. FoMoCo remains the leader with nearly 7.5 million cars recalled in the first three months of this year.
