Cadillac F1 Livery Officially Revealed In Super Bowl Ad: Video

Super Bowl LX has come and gone, sparking a lot of conversation in its wake. One of the standout moments for car enthusiasts and racing enthusiasts alike comes in the form of a 60-second clip titled “The Mission Begins,” in which the Cadillac F1 Team’s racing livery makes its official debut, giving fans a balanced black-and-white gradient look.

Elaborate designs are offset by a simple color palette (or lack thereof). The livery features a prominent monochrome Cadillac emblem (as expected), as well as TWG AI branding. Meanwhile, most cars do not have sponsor logos, including Jim Beam, Tenneco, Gainbridge and Tommy Hilfiger.

The ad itself channeled the nation’s patriotic ambitions, utilizing a quote from John F. Kennedy’s speech “We choose to go to the Moon.” The audio is set to a scene of Cadillac F1 race cars gathering around the driver, with cuts to the engineers and designers behind the vehicle’s creation. The way the cars fit together, the action set pieces, and the moon references are very Transformers-like, especially the third film, Darkness of the Moon. Interestingly, film director Michael Bay, who directed the first five Transformers films, sued the Cadillac F1 team for allegedly stealing his idea for a Super Bowl commercial. However, that’s a story for another time.

As a reminder, the yin-and-yang racing car will appear at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne in the first week of March with Valtteri Bottas and Sergio “Checo” Pérez at the wheel. Notably, the Cadillac F1 Team made its first rounds at Silverstone last month, and has since gone on to take part in the pre-season Barcelona Shakedown where they showcased a special edition all-black livery.
