Audi’s lineup of electric vehicles will expand later this year with the addition of the Audi A6 E-Tron. Audi previewed the sleek design of the EV with a concept, and it looks like the production version will retain most of the styling. Our second batch of A6 E-Tron spy shots captures testing the electric sedan at the famous Nurburgring race track.
New photos continue to show the Audi covered in full body camouflage wrap. However, like previous spy shots, this new one reveals a bit of style, such as the split-headlight design on the front. The Camo hides the rear, but we can see the wide, wide lower grille opening and vents on the outer edges of the bumper. There’s not much to see at the rear due to the stand-in taillight unit.

The new electric sedan will use the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture jointly developed between Porsche and Audi. While we know the car’s platform, we don’t have powertrain details. Audi previewed the A6 E-Tron with a concept that packs a dual motor setup that produces 470 horsepower (350 kilowatts) that can deliver it to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in under four seconds. The PPE architecture will also underpin the upcoming electric Porsche Macan and the Audi Q6 E-Tron crossover.
We haven’t seen the car’s interior yet, so it’s impossible to pinpoint the direction of the styling. The Audi E-Tron GT and Q4 E-Tron both use an on-dash layout with a collection of physical buttons underneath. We expect this car to have the latest infotainment technology and safety features.
The Audi A6 E-Tron could debut sometime this year, or Audi could delay the reveal until early 2023. In August last year, an Audi spokesperson said we could see the sedan revealed in 2022. However, the company has announced a date. . Instead, we’re likely to see the debut of the new Q6 E-Tron crossover first, hinting at what to expect from the A6 E-Tron. The company will also launch a wagon version – the Avant – which was previewed last month as a concept.
