2024 Dodge Electric Muscle Car Will Make A “Sound That You Cannot Imagine”

14. That’s how many brands Stellantis has under its big corporate umbrella. All of those active in Europe will abolish the combustion engine by the end of this decade. In the United States, the auto conglomerate said this week EVs will make up 50 percent of its sales by 2030. Although the electric rollout in the U.S. will be slower, Dare Forward 2030 is asking for more than 25 BEVs to arrive in the United States in the next eight years. many years.

One of the most exciting electric models announced so far is the world’s first production muscle car without an ICE. Dodge will take the lead with the concept coming later this year ahead of 2024 when road vehicles are scheduled to arrive. Parent company Stellantis has been tight-lipped about the performance engine, but CEO Carlos Tavares did have some interesting things to say this week.

Before laying out a long-term strategic plan, the 63-year-old Lisbon-born executive said the Dodge electric muscle car would deliver “sounds you can’t imagine.” He went on to describe it as “something surprising” even though a good petrol engine would be like a dodo:

“After they make a sound, they think about how they can make a louder and more powerful sound according to the way you use the car.”

It’s worth noting that Dodge won’t be the first automaker to make artificial sounds in an attempt to make its EVs more appealing, but it looks like muscle cars will have a more dramatic soundtrack. The yet-to-be-named EV is expected to have a pair of motors as the teaser shows the vehicle performing a four-wheel extinguisher.

During the live presentation that followed, Tavares said the zero-emissions muscle car would deliver “the unique performance and attitude that Dodge is known for.” That’s not much to say, but we have to point out the arrival of the EV won’t mean the end for petrol-powered models. In an interview last year with Muscle Cars and TrucksDodge CEO Tim Kuniskis stated:

“New cars come in 2024. We’re not saying that current cars will die in 2024. There may be a bit of overlap, but you won’t have classic and new years and years one by one.”

Before that happens, Dodge will introduce a plug-in hybrid model this year, likely called the Hornet and widely believed to be taking the form of an updated Alfa Romeo Tonale. The Italian crossover combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor for a total of 272 hp and all-wheel drive.
