The 2026 Corvette ZR1X will serve as the official Pace Car for the 110th running the Indianapolis 500, putting Chevy’s hybrid supercar in the spotlight at one of the biggest motorsports events of the year. Leading the 33-car field will be Indiana University Football Coach Curt Cignetti, who will serve as honorary Pace Car driver. Chevrolet also took advantage of the moment to highlight the 250 United Statesth anniversary, with the Corvette ZR1X Pace Car wearing a special patriotic exterior look associated with the automaker’s Stars and Steel Collection.

The ZR1X is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 5.5L V8 LT7 gasoline engine, which sends 1,064 horsepower to the rear wheels, with a front-mounted electric motor that increases output to a combined 1,250 horsepower. Chevrolet recorded acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in less than two seconds and a top speed of 233 mph.
So there are advantages in terms of speed and acceleration, that’s for sure. The Corvette ZR1X pace car was also upgraded with the Carbon Aero package, which added a large rear wing, underbody aero strakes, and front dive planes. Chevrolet says the package produces more than 1,200 pounds of downforce at top speed, meaning the ZR1X will feel right at home flying around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Adding to the spectacle is a one-off livery with stars-and-stripes graphics and a two-tone finish featuring Arctic White on the driver’s side and Admiral Blue on the passenger’s side. Additional striping is found in the center of the car, while the interior adds Santorini Blue seats, red seat belts and floor mats with red stitching.
“As we celebrate 250 years of Americath “This anniversary, the Pace Car’s design reflects the places we’ve visited and where we’re going,” said Phil Zak, Chevrolet Global Executive Design Director, “Every element – from the badging to the colors – was purposefully created to celebrate this milestone while expressing the future vision of Chevrolet design.”

The 2026 race will mark the 37thth a time when Chevrolet provided the 500 Pace and 23 Indy Carsrd this time the honor has been handed to the Corvette. 110th The Indianapolis 500 is scheduled to take place Sunday, May 24th2026.
