Average inventory levels at Buick dealers across the US dropped significantly in March 2026, although the Tri-Shield brand remains well above the industry average.
According to new data from Cox AutomotiveBuick closed the month with 114 days of vehicle inventory. This is a sizable decrease from the 140 day supply recorded in February, but much higher year-on-year compared to the 82 day supply recorded in March 2025.

Meanwhile, the broader industry average was recorded at 79 days of supply, placing Buick between Volkswagen at 109 days and Mitsubishi Motors at 119 days.
In the US market, inventories rose to 2.89 million units in March, marking a 1.3 percent increase from February, as well as a 6.1 percent year-over-year increase. However, the year-over-year increase also comes with a bit of an asterisk, as early 2025 saw a wave of accelerated purchasing tied to tariff issues, and as a result, inventories plummeted at that time.

Sales activity also picked up again in March, with industry-wide sales volume jumping about 36 percent compared to February. The accelerating pace of sales caused the industry’s average daily supply to fall from 96 days in the previous month. Even so, sales fell 4.8 percent year over year. Additionally, daily supply levels increased 11.4 percent year over year
Prices continued their upward trend in March, with the average MSRP increasing to $51,456, an increase of 3.9 percent. The average listing price increased to $48,667. The transaction price followed suit, rising to $49,275, an increase of 3.4 percent year over year. Incentives also increased to an average of $3,541 per vehicle, which is 7.2 percent of the average transaction price.

A closer look at Buick’s lineup shows relatively minor changes, with the exception of the Envision. According to a GM Authority analysis, new units of the compact Envision are currently being stockpiled in many dealers. Meanwhile, inventory levels for other US market models, including the Buick Encore GX, Buick Enclave, and Buick Envista, were relatively stable compared to previous months.
