The Cadillac Escalade IQ combines the luxury brand’s latest EV-based styling language with the proportions of a full-size SUV, and the end result provides a good level of curb appeal. Even so, the all-electric Escalade is designed to offer a striking new exterior paint option for the 2026 model year, namely Adobe Frost, an exclusive, high-value matte finish. Unfortunately, it now appears that this paint option was quietly removed before it could be produced.

It turns out, GM Authority has discovered that Adobe Frost failed to fit into one customer’s vehicle. Marked with the paint code GNR, Adobe Frost will initially be offered for the 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQ Luxury and Premium Luxury trim levels, at an additional cost of $5,925. Buyers can also pair the Adobe Frost with a Black painted roof (RPO code 41T), bringing the total cost for the combination to $7,025. Even so, Adobe Frost has disappeared from the options list of the 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQ. Interestingly, a similar situation occurred with the GMC Hummer EV, which was also slated to offer the same matte finish before being discontinued before launch.

While Adobe Frost has been removed from the Escalade IQ’s options list, the color has also been announced for the upcoming 2027 Cadillac Vistiq, and at least for now, it appears the color may finally be in production – although that could change between now and the start of regular production for the 2027 Vistiq.

Aside from the canceled matte paint option, the 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQ’s underlying mechanical specs remain unchanged over the outgoing 2025 model, with dual electric motors producing a combined 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque with Velocity Max mode engaged. Underneath the body panels, the Escalade IQ continues to ride on the GM BT1 platform, while production takes place at GM’s Factory Zero plant in Michigan.
