Last week, a major vehicle accident in Southern California resulted in a C8 Corvette flipping over on the freeway before landing next to a Maserati dealership. Amazingly, the driver and passenger of the Corvette did not suffer serious injuries in the crash. Apart from that, the incident was recorded on another driver’s camera.

According to reports from KTLA 5The incident occurred in the early hours of April 15th2026, in Industrial City. The report states that the Vette was traveling on Highway 60 before leaving the highway, causing extensive damage to the Maserati dealership and surrounding area.
Video recorded by a rear-facing camera on another vehicle showed the Corvette careening across several lanes of traffic before leaving the highway and becoming airborne, flipping several times before landing in front of a dealership located adjacent to the freeway. Additional footage from the crash scene highlighted extensive damage around the crash area. Officials have not released a cause for the incident, but looking at the footage and listening to witness statements, high speed appears to be the most likely cause.

A witness who described the incident said the Corvette collided with their vehicle while traveling on the freeway before the crash occurred. Witnesses claim the Corvette appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed before the driver lost control. According to the report, the Corvette and other vehicles were allegedly driving recklessly and possibly racing, and the cars may have been traveling at speeds in excess of 110 miles per hour. For now, the California Highway Patrol states that there is currently no definitive evidence to support the claim that the Corvette was racing, and for now, the incident is being treated as a property damage case. However, the investigation is ongoing.
