A new video recently posted to social media captured the moment a GMC Sierra stopped at a traffic light went sideways after a boat on a trailer swung wide, hitting the pickup’s fender.
The video was recorded on another driver’s dashboard camera, and according to video footage, the incident occurred on March 27.th2026, around 15.11 local time.

The video opens showing a long line of traffic stopped at the light, with a white GMC Sierra positioned in the right lane between several vehicles. In front and to the left of the Sierra was a small boat on a trailer being towed by another vehicle. Conditions appeared bright and dry, with blue skies above and wide visibility. Traffic was stopped, and the Sierra and its crane were seen waiting for the lights to come on.

As traffic started to move, the boat towing vehicles moved together, and the driver of the GMC Sierra waited behind as the boat and tow vehicle moved into the center lane. Then, as traffic moved toward the intersection, the driver of the Sierra suddenly shifted into the right lane, speeding up to a point parallel to the boat.
Unfortunately, that’s the wrong place to be in this particular situation. The trailer moved to the right, and the rear of the boat and trailer drifted toward the Sierra’s passenger side, and in the process slid into the pickup’s fender.

The impact appeared to occur at a relatively low speed, but definitely resulted in scratches to the paint and possible panel damage along the side of the pickup. After the contact, the trailer continued through the curve and passed the GMC Sierra, leaving the pickup stationary in the intersection.
According to the user who posted the video, after the incident, the driver of the GMC Sierra chose to park his pickup right in the middle of the road to make a phone call while traffic was heavy behind them.
