Cadillac Escalade Most Considered Luxury Vehicle In Q2 2022

Calling the Cadillac Escalade a highly coveted vehicle might be a bit of an understatement, as the full-size luxury SUV sold so well that it almost sold its entire segment combined. It’s no surprise then that the Escalade is the most considered luxury vehicle in the second quarter of 2022, according to a recent study conducted by Kelly’s Blue Book.

Kelly Blue Book and Cox Automotive The Quarterly Brand Consideration Study measures which automotive make and model customers are most considering in the market for a new vehicle. Luxury car models and makers are studied separately from mainstream vehicles and brands. Data is collected from customers who shop online, either through mobile or desktop applications and websites. Prior to the first quarter of 2021, only desktop user habits are considered.

The Q2 2022 study revealed that the Cadillac Escalade was the most shopped vehicle in the luxury SUV segment, meaning that online shoppers spent a fair amount of time researching Cadillac’s flagship models. In fact, the Escalade is the most shopped vehicle in the luxury segment overall, ahead of the Buick Enclave in second and the Acura MDX in third.

The Luxury SUV segment attracted 67 percent of luxury vehicle buyers, down from 68 percent in the first quarter of 2021 and up from 66 percent year-on-year. Comparatively, luxury car considerations command a 54 percent share, up from 51 percent in the first quarter of 2021 and down from 55 percent year-on-year.

Overall, Cadillac is the second most considered brand in the luxury vehicle segment, with 17 percent of buyers interested in the luxury brand. This figure puts it just behind BMW, which leads the segment with a consideration of 21 percent. Cadillac barely outperformed Lexus, which also holds a 17 percent stake.
