Maserati Grecale Teased Again, March 22 Reveal Date Announced

[ad_1]

Maserati will reveal the all-new Grecale crossover on March 22. The company had planned to introduce the model last year, but the ongoing chip crunch following the coronavirus pandemic delayed it until this spring, which arrived just two days before launch. Greece reveals. Grecale gave the brand a second crossover, placed under Levante, as it charted a new path under Stellantis.

The announcement of the company’s debut date comes alongside a few teaser photos, which show the crossover sporting attractive graphics that tease what we’d expect from the new model. The design of the Grecale has never been a secret, with tight camouflage hiding a hint of crossover style. Maserati hasn’t teased the interior yet, but spy shots do reveal the heavy, sporty-looking screen.

Powertrain information remains a mystery, but we expect Maserati to offer a variety of them. The company’s plans include an electric version, although we don’t know the specifics. The high-performance Trofeo model is rumored to receive a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that powers the Maserati MC20. That makes 621 horsepower (374 kilowatts) in a supercar but will likely make less in a crossover. There are also rumors that the Maserati will use a 2.9-liter V6 engine from the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio to power it. This Alfa engine produces 502 hp (374 kW).

Maserati originally planned to unveil the Grecale on November 16, but the chip crunch shifted it to 2022. The Grecale will be an important addition to the brand’s lineup, giving the automaker an offering in the coveted and competitive compact crossover segment. We don’t know if Maserati will reveal a Trofeo variant alongside the regular Grecale model, although the company may reveal that later. The new Grecale will go on sale for the 2023 model year, though it’s unclear when it will start arriving at US dealers.
